Game Summary:
Hazle Twonship Little League - Dolan and Generose combined pitching for six K's in five innings. Hits were had by Generose and Dolan. Bisco, Yablonsky, and Ritz were strong inthe field. Chicalese pinch hit inthe fifth.
At the end of the game Hazle Township was honored by their team Uncle, Herb White, their host families, NELL's President and District 19's District Administrator. As each player was announced, Host families handed the player their gift at the pitcher's mound. Each Hazle Township player received a large duffle bag donated by Sunoco with the State Tournament logo on the side. The bag contained various items including a tournament shirt stating "I played in the 1996 Pennsylvania State Tournament", Blockbuster gift certificates, and other hats and shirts. Franklin Little League - Franklin's Frederick hit three for four. Haun hit a GRAND SLAMM HOME RUN in the second inning, his second grand slam of the tournament. hits were also had by Grill, Thoma, Rial, and Ward. Sandieson hit a home run in the bottom of the fifth to end the game under the ten run rule.
At the end of the game Franklin was presented with the State Championship Pennant. The team made a lap once around the field and then they were honored by their team Uncle, Bob Cohen, their host families, NELL's President and District 19's District Administrator.
