Description of League Divisions:
The Newtown-Edgmont Little League is composed of a Major, Minor A, Minor B,
and Minor C Division as well as a six year old Tee Ball Division.
All 7 and 8 year old children and those 9 and 10 year old children who have
not been assigned to another division will participate in the Minor C Division.
The Minor B Division consists of children ages 9 through 12 who have advanced
beyond the Minor C Division but not to the level of the Minor A or Major
Division. The Minor A Division consists of children ages 10 through 12 who have
advanced beyond the Minor B Division but not to the level of the Major Division.
The Major Division is composed of 11 and 12 year old children. Every
consideration will be given to ensure that the children will enjoy Little League
Baseball.
Voluntary Nature Of The League:
The Newtown-Edgmont Little League is your league and is governed 100% by
volunteers. A voluntary contribution of a few hours of your time reduces the
need to pay for services necessary to uphold the quality of your league. Please
help and be involved in the League's activities wherever possible.
Each team will be assigned a Team Father and Team Mother whose
responsibility is to act as a liaison between the Team Manager and the other
parents of that team to coordinate parental involvement in maintaining our
facilities, staffing the refreshment stand, and other activities. Maintenance of
our fields, facilities and equipment is the responsibility of each and every
parent.
We ask each Father to participate in at least two (2) Mandatory scheduled
Field Maintenance Sundays. If you are unable to participate on the scheduled
day, please schedule an alternate date with your team's manager. Field
Maintenance includes everything from raking fields to any major improvements
that are needed. There is always enough work for everyone.
We ask each Mother to volunteer to help in our refreshment stand at least
twice during the regular season. Responsibilities in the refreshment stand range
from helping sell hot-dogs and hamburgers to water ice and candy. Volunteers may
be needed post season, any additional assistance would be appreciated.
ALL HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
Regular League Meetings:
Little League meetings are held at the Newtown-Edgmont Little League
building on the second Wednesday of each month. We strongly urge each parent to
attend these meetings and to become involved in Your league. We are always open
to new ideas and ways to make the Newtown-Edgmont Little League a better
organization.
Parent/Guardian Responsibilities:
The Newtown-Edgmont Little League has, for the benefit of each registered
player's family, purchased supplemental insurance which provides coverage in
addition to, or in lieu of, accident and health insurance that parents or
guardians would normally carry for family protection. Only claims directly
related to Little League activity are valid and should be promptly reported to
the League Safety Director by mail at the above address. The parent or guardian
will be responsible, if requested, to supply medical certification of the
player's ability to participate in this program.
The parent or guardian is responsible for the transportation of that player
to and from all scheduled activities. The liabilities of the Newtown-Edgmont
Little League for the safety and welfare of each player is terminated 15 minutes
after their scheduled activity. Please make arrangements for the player to be
delivered and picked up within that time frame. The Newtown-Edgmont Little
League and any volunteers will be held harmless of any incidents arising out of
transportation requirements to, during and from any scheduled league activity.
Please advise your Player's Team Manager as soon as possible of any
Non-Attendance Situation such as illness, vacation, or family activity that
conflicts with the league schedule of games or practices. Non-attendance at
practices may result in disallowing participation in a scheduled game.
The parent or guardian of each player will be responsible for the condition
(except normal wear and tear) and return of the issued uniform. Caps need not be
returned. Failure to return a complete and laundered uniform will result in the
responsible parent or guardian being issued a bill for the replacement cost at
the current rate. Consult your team manager for the uniform return date.
Player Discipline:
The Discipline of the players for failure to comply with the rules and
regulations of Little League International and/or Newtown-Edgmont Little League
will be at the discretion of the Managers, Coaches, and/or Umpires. All
disciplinary action taken, which may range from disallowing a player
participation from a scheduled game to ejection from Little League Baseball,
will be reported via the Team Manager to the League's current Player Agent (Herb
White, 325-0996; fax-325-2380).
