Econ 606 On Line
- An introductory RBC program in Mathematica. This program will get you
the decision function coefficients for a model with variable labor,
investment and consumption. The program to generate the times series is
given laterThe Mathematica program (18kb)
- The Nov. 18 version of the RBC program can be downloaded by hittingRBC progam files (9kb). To run these, (1) put
the file in a directory so the address reads something like:
c:\Econ607\Rbc1c, (2) In Mathematica, type SetDirectory["c:\Econ607"],
(3) Retrieve the contents of the file with the command: Get["Rbc1c"]; Don't
forget the quotes and semi-colon. You can replace "Get" with the double
less-than sign. To make sure you have everything, type
spec. (4) Then type, in order, getSS, setFOC, getbb, makeseries[25].
Change the 25 to a higher number once you know things work. A 100 year
data set would be created with makeseries[400], since there are 4
quarters in a year. (5) Go back and change the specification by altering
the spec vector. Good Luck.
- A more complete RBC program can be downloaded with
Dec. 5 RBC programs (20 kb). Download this and input it with the
get command as before.
